Gary Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring contractor based in Gary, IN, with more than 20 years of experience grinding, repairing and coating concrete. We work on garage and basement floors in homes across Northwest Indiana and on commercial and industrial floors in shops, warehouses, kitchens and plants.
We work from a simple view of the trade: most coating failures are decided before the first coat goes down. A slab that was never properly opened, moisture nobody measured, or a crack nobody mentioned will undo the best product on the market. Everything about how we work is built around getting those early steps right.
Our Approach
We open every slab mechanically, with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster, and never with an acid etch. Before the price is final, the slab is tested for moisture, and the written proposal names the test method and the reading it has to pass, along with the product line, the number of coats and the finished thickness. Cracks, spalls and old paint are mapped first, and when a floor needs repair or replacement before it should be coated, we say so.
We explain what a coating warranty leaves out before a job is sold, starting with moisture. Cure schedules follow slab temperature and the dew point rather than the calendar, so an unheated garage in deep winter is told to wait. Home jobs get a written contract carrying the items Indiana’s Home Improvement Contracts Act requires, products are chosen inside Indiana’s VOC limits, grinding dust is captured at the machine, and licensing rules in Gary and each nearby town are checked before booking. We never sell a floor coating as radon reduction, waterproofing or flood protection.
